How Effective Are Inpatient Addiction Recovery Centers?

by | Mar 2, 2022

Addiction can be a challenging and isolating struggle, but it is important to remember that you are not alone. If you are seeking addiction treatment in Louisville, Kentucky, there is hope.

Addiction recovery centers are available in both inpatient and outpatient settings. These addiction recovery programs are used to help individuals get over their drug dependencies, regardless of what kind of drugs or substances they have been using. There are several types of addiction recovery programs that an individual can choose from.

Before choosing which rehabilitation facility you will visit, it is important to research and find out which one is best for you. There are various recovery centers available, so it is important to review each one carefully before making a final decision.

Inpatient addiction recovery centers require the individual to stay at the treatment center, where they receive round-the-clock care from medical professionals. In these recovery programs, individuals are monitored closely to ensure their safety. These addiction recovery centers are commonly used by individuals who have more severe drug dependencies or who struggle with co-occurring mental health disorders, such as depression.

Some patients also find it difficult to stay away from the things that trigger their drug cravings, so inpatient treatment facilities allow them to focus on getting sober without worrying about their daily activities.

How Effective Are Inpatient Addiction Recovery Centers?

Unfortunately, inpatient addiction recovery centers do not always produce successful results. There are cases where patients relapse within a matter of weeks after completing drug treatment at an inpatient facility. These individuals may feel they have failed because of the negative feelings associated with relapse.

However, it is important to remember that relapse is a common part of recovery. When the person relapses, they only go back to using when they were at their lowest point in life. This means when they are ready for treatment again after relapse, they will have hopefully learned what not to do in order to get through future negative triggers that could lead them to relapse again in the future.

Patients also relapse because they do not have proper aftercare plans put in place. Before an individual leaves the recovery center, it is important for them to meet with a counselor to develop the abilities and coping skills necessary to deal with negative problems. These skills help an individual learn how to cope with negative feelings and avoid reaching for drugs as a means of coping with problems and managing their emotions and stress levels.

What to Look For in an Inpatient Addiction Recovery Center

In the search for the best addiction recovery center, there are certain factors individuals should consider before making their final decision. It is critical that patients receive care from a doctor who specializes in addiction treatment.

Patients should also receive care from a facility that is accredited by the Joint Commission, the Council on Accreditation and Rehabilitation Facilities International. Furthermore, patients should look for addiction recovery centers with an excellent success rate. You can ask questions regarding the percentage of patients who remain drug-free long after completing treatment. In addition, patients should look for a facility that provides therapy sessions outside of group meetings. These therapy sessions allow the individual to have an in-depth conversation with a counselor about their recovery process and experiences after leaving the center. In order to find the best addiction recovery center for you, remember to research thoroughly and talk with others who have gone through the same type of treatment for addiction, as well as speak with your physician.
