How Your Brain Will React When You Abuse Alcohol?

by | Aug 5, 2022

Addiction can be a challenging and isolating struggle, but it is important to remember that you are not alone. If you are seeking addiction treatment in Louisville, Kentucky, there is hope.

Our Louisville Addiction Treatment Center is dedicated to helping those with alcohol addiction. Our personal plans focus on understanding what happens to your brain when you use alcohol.

How Alcohol Affects You

For thousands of years, people have brewed alcohol. However, alcohol is an addictive substance that can temporarily distract you from your problems. Alcohol also boosts your mood temporarily. In a good mood, for example, you become joyful.

Similarly, if you become angry or in a bad mood, it also impairs your decision-making ability and interferes with your motor functions, so you have difficulty performing basic tasks. As a result, you could engage in improper behavior such as drinking and driving, fighting, or unprotected sex in the worst-case scenario.

What Happens To Your Brain When You Use Alcohol?

Teenagers and young adults are at risk of brain damage due to alcohol consumption. When you drink, your brain works at a slower rate, making simple tasks and rational decisions more difficult. Your brain is still developing in adolescence, and alcohol can permanently damage it. You may find it difficult to process information and learn new things because of this.

Aside from that, you can get into serious trouble by drinking and crashing your car, killing someone, or even hurting yourself. Studies also show you are more likely to develop an addiction from a younger age.

Our Treatment for Alcohol Addiction

A variety of addiction treatment services are available at Louisville Addiction Treatment Center. Our drug and alcohol therapies are among the best in the nation. Our program has been successful in treating severe alcoholism. Our REBT therapy services include:

Intensive Outpatient

You don’t stay at our facilities when receiving treatment. Instead, you will receive therapy included in your plan based on your needs. The benefit of intensive outpatient treatment is that you can still stay at home with your family while receiving high-quality treatment from us.

Outpatient

With outpatient therapy, you have more flexibility with less intensity. If you relapse and have mild substance use issues, this form of treatment may be of benefit to you. You may also be too busy working and caring for your family to dedicate the time needed for an intensive program.

Telemed

We understand that you’re not always available when it’s convenient for us. Therefore, we offer flexible scheduling. Additionally, our intuitive telemedicine system allows you to receive care remotely. As a result, you can receive care without having to leave the comfort of your home.

Multiple Pathways

There is no single type of treatment or therapy we provide. To achieve your goals, we provide several proven and effective solutions. Our behavior therapy includes a multiple pathways approach that works, such as counseling, intervention, and treatment for disorders.

Aftercare

We provide aftercare and support services to meet the needs of clients during their recovery process. Aside from detoxing, we offer prescriptions and help you adjust to a life without alcohol. Whatever you need, we are here to help you as you begin a new life without alcohol.

This core group of services benefits our patients. But we also provide a range of additional services. Members of any community are welcome, including members of the LGBTQ+ community, veterans, and college students. We will work with and support you every step.

Let Us Help You

The way we do things is a little different from other facilities. So don’t worry about being locked up, judged, or treated badly. That’s not how we are. In place of individual therapy, we combine it with community-based counseling to help you identify your concerns and create a plan for overcoming them. We develop a tailored plan for your specific needs through our specialized impact treatment program. You will, therefore, be able to choose from a variety of therapeutic treatments, and we will provide you with care and compassion in all of them.

Our Costs of Treatment

This program has the advantage of being more affordable than residential care. Considering you are an outpatient, there are no additional costs. However, the cost of your plan may vary depending on the type of treatment you receive.

Thanks to our partnerships with major insurance companies, we are able to support and assist you. As a result, your insurance company will cover the cost of treatment. Our team will handle the rest after you submit your benefits information. Please start by completing the Admissions Insurance Application Form

Everyone is welcome at our Louisville Addiction Treatment Center. We won’t judge your drinking problem, and we’ll help you beat it with our unique REBT program. Further, we will also help you understand what happens to your brain when you use alcohol and other drugs.
